International Real Estate Partners hire their first intern via their new programme
International Real Estate Partners (IREP) have launched our new internship programme to give young people a chance to flourish in a competitive, fast-paced and dynamic working environment. We are constantly growing with a rising need for new talent within IREP that can bring new ideas and enthusiasm.
We have recently hired our first intern through the programme, Tristan de Garrigues. Tristan will be working closely with Kristian Syson, Head of Property at IREP, whilst gaining experience across different departments and disciplines. Read our interview with our newest team member below.
Tell us a bit about yourself
Hello, I’m Tristan, and I’m 22 years old and was born in Paris. I lived in France for ten years and then moved to the UAE, where I studied in British curriculum schools from the start of secondary until the end of sixth form. I now live in Manchester after graduating from the University of Manchester, where I studied a Bachelor of Science degree in Management (Strategy, Innovation & Entrepreneurship). I graduated with a First Class Honours over the summer and will be returning in September to begin a Master (MSc) in International Business and Management.
What attracted you to apply for the intern position with IREP?
Throughout University, I’ve been fascinated by strategy and innovation; that’s what IREP is all about! Everything seemed so interesting, from their highly strategic facilities management services to their ground-breaking vertical farming technology. I could tell that I would learn a great deal.
How will your skills benefit IREP?
As a very recent graduate, I can bring new ideas to the table and offer a different perspective on certain matters. If my thoughts help the company in any way, I see it as a success as I’m surrounded by great minds and wish to be a valuable asset. As a big fan of strategic thinking and problem solving, I never back down from a challenge and love trying to figure out new solutions and ways to benefit the business as much as possible.
How have you enjoyed working in the office?
I’ve been working at the IREP office in Jumeirah Lakes Towers (JLT), Dubai. It’s unlike any office I’ve worked in before. IREP is a large international company, and there are lots going on at all times… I’m never bored! Nevertheless, the office hosts a great working environment, and everybody I’ve met has been extremely friendly and helpful.
What has your experience been so far?
Although just starting out at this internship, I have already learned so much and learning more every day. As a result of the highly diversified nature of the business, every project I’ve worked on has been exciting and different. The IREP employees have made me feel so welcome and treat me as part of the IREP team rather than “just an intern,” which is extremely motivating.
We’re looking forward to seeing Tristan grow professionally and personally during his time with us at IREP. We will monitor his growth and encourage him to take on new tasks, ask questions and have a real input into our business. You can follow Tristans career journey through his LinkedIn profile.
We hope this is the start of many brilliant, talented youngsters starting their careers with us. Our internship programme not only gives young professionals a chance to kickstart their careers, but it also gives IREP the chance to invest in our future success, discovering new talent and future leaders.
