International Real Estate Partners opens our second office in India in Bangalore

International Real Estate Partners (IREP) has expanded the business in a variety of ways this year, including new partnerships, clients, and personnel.

One of the newest additions to the team is Alícia Roura, our data controller and multilingual marketing assistant. Alícia has been working closely with the facility managers worldwide to resolve data inconsistency issues, conducting data validation tasks for our business intelligence tool IREPort, and assisting with the automation of tasks and creation of rule books and workflows. She’ll soon be working closely with the marketing team, collaborating with Mexico and other countries in Latin America. Read our interview with her below.

How have you found the past two months working with IREP?

I feel like time has gone by very quickly – getting to know my new colleagues and trying to understand their roles and professional responsibilities. I feel very lucky to have the opportunity to learn from individuals that have a lot of professional experience.

What have you learned in your short time with us?

I have learned that I still have a lot to understand professionally and that we shouldn’t turn down new opportunities because we are afraid we won’t succeed. When I was offered this job, I wasn’t sure whether I should accept the position because I didn’t know much about this industry, but nobody is born knowing everything. Now, I am glad to be part of this team because I have learned new skills that I thought I’d never learn! I feel like I am not only learning and growing professionally, I am also growing personally because I work with people from around the world, and we all have different opinions and ways of being, which is an enriching experience.

Have you found it easy to adapt to your new role?

It’s a very different and a new role to me. I studied Applied Linguistics and Translation and Interpreting. Therefore, if someone had told me less than 2 years ago, when I finished university, that I’d be working as a Data Controller and Multilingual Marketing Assistant, I would have probably laughed at the idea.

Before starting my role at IREP, I previously worked with Fiona Feldermann, the Head of Sales and Marketing, and Christian Feldermann, the Head of Technology. I am also still working from the same office, which has made adjusting to IREP much easier for me. I’d like to say that I am grateful for the opportunity that has been provided to me. Everyone has been very welcoming, and I have felt like part of the team since day one.

What do you hope to achieve in the next six months?

I am now working on a significant project that will most likely change how facility managers work for the better. I hope that in 6 months we can already see some positive results. Fingers crossed.

How have you found working with such a large team?

IREP is a large team, but it’s also like a family. Everyone is very friendly, willing to help and non-judgmental. I know that my colleagues are very busy, but they always find some time to help me when I need it. Sometimes, it’s very difficult to speak to people with very important roles in other companies, but I don’t think that’s the case at IREP, and I’m grateful for that.

How have your previous roles prepared you for working with IREP?

My previous job was as a Project Manager. I had to develop relationships with clients to understand their specific translation and service requirements and be part of a team. I feel like this is the same at IREP. In this big new project I am working on, I need to understand the specific requirements of each country and client. At the end of the day, all roles are important. They teach you something and prepare you for future roles because you have responsibilities and continually learn and develop.

We’re looking forward to seeing Alícia develop in this new role as a Data Controller and Multilingual Marketing Assistant and continue to learn and grow professionally and personally during her time with us at IREP. You can connect with Alícia to stay up to date with her career journey via her LinkedIn profile.
