Joy Giles is our Global Head of Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE). Joy has two decades of experience, working in a whole range of sectors including: telecommunications, airports, governmental authorities, and facility management.
Also, Joy is a Chartered Member of the Institution of Occupational Safety & Health (CMIOSH), and has a diploma in Health, Safety, and Environmental Management.
Joy joined IREP in May of 2018 ad Global Head of HSE, taking responsibility for IREP’s HSE departments globally. She immediately got to work, developing and implementing our HSE management system, which is now ISO 14001 & ISO45001 accredited.
Being the Global Head of HSE is a complex task. Differing cultures, legislation attitudes, client requirements, and so on, require pragmatism and flexibility when implementing processes and procedures. For Joy, this implementation is a vocation as well as a profession. She has a profound passion for creating safety cultures that become second nature, using education and collaboration to achieve this.
Joy spends her spare time in a variety of ways. Like many of her colleagues, she values spending free time with family and friends. Joy also enjoys cultural activities such as attending concerts or the theatre, as well as walking, swimming, and spending time by the coast.
